UPDATE

To mark the International Lead Prevention Week, Toxics Link conducted an awareness programme on “Lead in Paint” for students on 20 October, 2014 at Delhi International Happy School, Jungpura, New Delhi. The aim was to make the students aware on the presence of lead in enamel paints and the urgency of taking remedial action at home and school. The students were briefly explained about the reasons of adding lead in enamel paints, sources of lead exposure in daily life, health hazards, and precautions to be taken to avoid such exposures. The students and teachers signed the petition for “Mandatory standards for LEAD in Paint”.
