Lucknow Municipal Corporation prepares roadmap to Smart City, to use recycled water, LED lights

Lucknow Municipal Corporation has gone a step ahead in mapping the Smart City proposal for Lucknow by including smart features like emphasis on use of recycled water for cleaning, installing LED lights to reduce electricity expenses and planning to integrate government's ambitious project- IT city on Sultanpur Road with the "Smart City' plan. LMC authorities held meeting with departments like traffic, LDA, Housing Board, Jal Sansthan, City Transport Services Ltd on Monday to discuss features of Smart City development. The biggest challenge would be to separate disposal of sewage and sludge as in 98% of colonies, sewer lines are connected with drains. LMC will also introduce an organised system for display of smart advertisement panels and do away with haphazard installing of billboards and hoardings.
