Delhi has a new plan to make Yamuna sewage-free, in just 3 years

Not a drop of sewage will flow into Yamuna three
years from now, if a new plan prepared by
different departments of the Delhi Government is to be believed. In an
elaborate exercise titled 'Action Plan for Implementation of Directions of NGT
for Unsewered Areas,' DDA, DJB and an independent scientist among others have
proposed that "sewage from unsewered areas of Delhi is intercepted and
taken to trunk sewers even when the primary sewers are not in place". This
can be achieved "in the next three years subject to timely availability of
land from land-owning agencies and requisite resources".
