Study Conducted As Part Of Agriculture Varsity’s ‘Safe To
Eat’ Programme Let’s face it. Not all organic vegetables are safe. Some
vegetables being sold under the ‘organically farmed’ tag were found containing
pesticides during tests. The finding is by Kerala Agriculture University (KAU).
While it found pesticide residues above permissible limits in long beans, ivy
gourd and curry leaves, they were within permissible in green chilli. So far,
organic vegetables, though it burnt a hole in your pocket, was much in demand,
thanks to the belief that they were free of pesticides.
