Toxics Alert: NGT slams MoEF and state governments for neglecting solid waste disposal

National Green Tribunal (NGT) Bhopal bench has slammed Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF), Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan governments for not implementing municipal solid waste (MSW) rules framed in 2000 and for also not furnishing satisfactory replies in this regard.

Green panel has asked for personal appearance of principal secretaries of urban administration department from the three states and deputy secretary and above ranked officer from MoEF dealing with MSW rules to explain their stand before May 8, the next date of hearing.
