Clean & Green Hospitals aims at supporting and facilitating health care facilities in the country to provide environmentally sustainable healthcare to the masses. It’s an initiative undertaken by Toxics Link in association with STENUM Asia Sustainable Development Society.

CGH envisages promoting a brand of healthcare committed to greening itself and reducing its ecological footprint. It works with hospitals to enable optimum utilization of resources.

A team comprising of experts in the fields of Energy, Water and Waste Management, studies the existing patterns of resource management in hospitals and gives practical suggestions on expected expenditure and possible savings, along with calculation of a payback period for the hospital to retrieve the investments that have been made.

Use of chemicals, their effects, ideal usage patterns and possible alternatives to the harmful ones, also fall under the spectrum of CGH initiative.

CGH also offers hand-holding support to hospitals for implementing its suggestions along with capacity building of internal resources so that the progress achieved is sustained over a period of time. Besides, CGH has an array of training and awareness materials meant for aiding the process of greening hospitals.
