That was Peggy Grayson’s biggest concern as the cost to taxpayers has doubled not even 10 months into the year. Grayson, the recycling administrator for GLOW Region Solid Waste Management Committee, gave her department review to the Genesee County Public Service committee on Monday. This year 33,600 pounds of old box-sized televisions and computer monitors, and another 728 of bare cathode ray tubes (CRT) and 677 broken CRTs from old televisions were collected, with the last two items costing the waste management 35 cents a pound. The department’s invoice last year was $3,000 and this year it was $6,588
