Towards an e-waste free Sri Lanka

There is a significant increase in electronic waste (e-waste) in Sri Lanka during the past one and half decades due to the increase of the use of hi-tech products, Environment and Renewable Energy Minister Susil Premajayantha said. Addressing the inauguration of the Electronic Waste Management Week at Mihilaka Medura, BMICH, on Monday, Minister Premajayantha said the number of mobile phones in Sri Lanka is higher than the population of the country.
