A new report on heavy metals in toys from ESDO (Bangladesh) titled “Toxic Toys” finds that 97% of toys tested were significantly above European Union and United States standards for lead, cadmium, bro-mine and chromium. Plastic toys most frequently contained toxic metals, and more than 60 % of samples contained high levels of lead.
