After being pulled up by the National
Green Tribunal (NGT) for delaying the process, the Delhi Electricity Regulatory
Commission (DERC) is soon going to come up with the rates at which discoms will
have to purchase power generated by waste-to-energy plants. “The tariffs will
be out by the end of this month. The commission has called stakeholders for the
final hearing on July 19 where power purchase agreements (PPAs) will be decided

rate set by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC),” said Krishna
Saini, chairperson of the DERC. After lying defunct for several months, the
waste-to-energy plant in Bawana is finally set to be operationalised
