Haryana pollution board issues notice to Gurgaon hospitals

The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has issued a notice to hospitals and clinics in Gurgaon to create a ‘garbage stock point’ on their premises to segregate bio-medical waste from other hospital waste. According to sources, the notice has been sent to around 50 smaller clinics – those having less than 25 beds run by single doctors – that failed to follow HSPCB guidelines. In July, an official said, notices were served to 150 hospital and clinics. While the General Hospital was served a showcause notice, the others — including big hospitals and renowned clinics — were served final notices for ignoring norms despite repeated reminders.
