Marshals will check leaf burning in New Delhi

Marshals dressed in green uniform checking open garbage and leaf burning in areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will soon be a common sight. Taking garbage burning seriously, the council has decided to depute a team of marshals to effectively nab anyone found violating the rule. "These marshals will be stationed at various areas under the council and they will check, stop and fine anyone found burning leaves and garbage openly. The aim is to reduce the pollution in the city," said a senior NDMC official.
