CETPs poor performance comes in for censure

Inching closer to the deadline of Yamuna Revitalization Project, 2017 every day, some common effluent treatment plants are found to be lagging behind in their performance, much to the displeasure of the National Green Tribunal after it found them to be releasing water with much high Biochemical Oxygen Demand. The NGT on Thursday pulled up DSIIDC which maintains the Keshav Puram/ Lawrence Road CETP. It also criticised the Okhla Industrial Estate which is operating and maintaining CETP at Okhla. The two plants have been found to be generating water with a Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) of 30 and above.
