The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered the Haryana Urban
Development Authority (HUDA) to complete the construction of a proposed sewage
treatment plant in Gurgaon by March 2017, two years earlier than planned.
According to the plan, the project is being designed to let only treated sewage
into the Najafgarh drain in Delhi. The NGT has also directed HUDA to acquire
land under “emergency clauses of the land acquisition law” in Sector 107,
Gurgaon where the 100-mld treatment plant is proposed to come up.
