Forest department issues notices to GMC officials for burning waste in green belt

Forest department authorities here have issued a show cause notice to three Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation officials for allegedly dumping and burning waste in a green belt area. The forest department action comes on a complaint received from an NGO 'Society for protection environment and biodiversity', which alleged that dumping and burning of waste in the green belt stretch, from Vivekanand Nagar to Sanjay Nagar railway over bridge, was damaging the environment. The department has received a complaint from the NGO regarding dumping and burning of waste in a green belt area.
