NGT wants tree survey, database of Mangar forest

National Green Tribunal has directed the ministry of environment, forest and climate change and the forest department of Haryana to conduct a tree survey and create a database of trees and undergrowth in Mangar off the Gurgaon-Faridabad highway. Mangar Bani, a grove in the area, is held sacred by locals. The report has to be submitted to the tribunal within eight weeks and may be crucial in giving this pristine patch of Aravalis a protected forest status.
