Steel pickling units flouting green norms: NGO tells National Green Tribunal

An NGO has moved the National Green Tribunal seeking execution of an order by which the green panel had directed DPCC to take action against stainless steel pickling industries in Wazirpur here, which are not complying with mandatory pollution standards. A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar had directed Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to take legal action against steel pickling industries operating without consent. The NGO All India Lokadhikar Sangthan, in its fresh plea, has alleged that despite the Tribunal's order, "DPCC has failed to implement the direction passed on October 17, 2014.
