Flats go green with organic farming, LED lights

City's apartment complexes have joined hands to implement various effective waste management systems. While some apartment associations turned to organic farming by using bio-degradable waste generated from individual dwelling units, others have come up with innovative ideas like using hollow tiles for paving the ground or substituting CFLs with LED lights. Waste management experts, who have been visiting apartment complexes as part of TOI's Clean Kochi initiative, said that apartment residents are conscious of the waste they generate and the need to conserve resources like rainwater. be promoted as it would ensure percolation of rain water."
