With 2017 set as the deadline for cleaning and rejuvenating the Yamuna, the National Green Tribunal has now directed that the steel pickling units in Wazirpur, which are a major source of pollution, be acted against for operating in violation of anti-pollution standards.The NGT has directed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to take action against those units found operating without consent and not complying with mandatory pollution standards.
