Mumbai: Shouldn’t packaged products be sealed, HC asks Centre

The Bombay high court on Wednesday sought to know if the central government was willing to make it mandatory to seal pre-packaged products such as toothpastes and shampoos, to prevent their contamination. The division bench of justice Naresh Patil and justice Ajay Gadkari was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL), contending products such as creams, lotions and shampoos are pre-packaged but not sealed, making them prone to contamination and adulteration.
