'MPCB must submit proposal for using fly ash in 2 weeks'

The National Green Tribunal, Western Zone, has asked the state pollution control board to send a copy of the proposal sent to the government offices on using fly ash in two weeks during the hearing of an application by Nashik Fly Bricks Association against the ministry of environment and forests. Justice V R Kingaonkar and expert member Ajay Deshpande gave the direction while hearing the application on January 6. The NGT had on December 1 questioned why the district collector should not be prosecuted for non-compliance of the court's orders with respect to fly ash. The application was filed by the Nashik association president Sunil Mendhekar on October 30, 2013 against the government officials concerned for flouting the MoEF directions on fly ash. The NGT had instructed every government department to use fly ash bricks for construction purposes.
