At a time when courts are ordering strict measures to control pollution in the Capital, a government body duty bound to look after various aspects of the menace and grant consent to industrial operations did not even know the total number of industries in the Wazirpur Industrial Area. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) in an RTI reply has said it does not have any information on the total number of industries in the Wazirpur Industrial Area, which is said to be discharging untreated waste into sewers joining the Yamuna.
