Ban on plastic bags in Gurgaon

The local administration has prepared a comprehensive plan to implement ban on plastic bags in the city. It also said it will soon crack down on users, manufacturers, stockists, transporters and distributors of plastic bags. The drive is part of the Haryana Government’s Swachhta Abhiyan. Giving details, Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi said different teams will be constituted for different areas and their responsibility will be fixed if plastic bags are found being used. Additional Deputy Commissioner P.S. Chauhan will be the overall in-charge for urban areas. The Joint Commissioners of Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG) will look after the task in their respective jurisdiction, while the Estate Officers of HUDA will take care of their areas.
