Toxic vegetables removed from nullah, but water pumps still exist

The extensive drive by the state government to remove toxic
vegetables from the Amanishah Nullah was a futile attempt at preventing
toxicity. For, even after the vegetables were removed, the source that fed the
trend still exists. Even now, all along the 47 km stretch of the nullah you can
spot hundreds of water pumps installed with kilometers long underground
pipeline feeding the nearby fields with greasy, black stinking water. Acting on
the high court directions, joint teams from Jaipur Development Authority (JDA),
Jaipur Muncipal Corporation (JMC) and Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) carried out
several drives to remove poisonous vegetables from the catchment area of the
nullah.
