By the end of this year, the Delhi Jal Board will get a
recycling plant at its headquarters and save thousands of litres of water every
day. “The process is on to set up a recycling unit, which will treat 115
kilolitres of sewage generated at our headquarters. Around the same amount of
treated water will be produced,” Jal Board spokesperson Sanjam Chima said on
Friday. According to the Jal Board, water demand is around 1,080 million
gallons per day (MGD), but only 840 MGD is available and supply augmentation is
unlikely in the near future.
