Government seeks to generate revenue from waste

Keeping in mind the ongoing waste management crisis in Delhi, the government on Thursday pointed out that they will have to explore innovative ideas to deal with the situation. Acknowledging that waste management is a key area of concern, the government said there is a need to change the mindset and explore possibilities of generating revenue out of the garbage. The solid waste management is a big problem in cities, said urban development secretary Shankar Aggarwal at a seminar on finalisation of the manual on solid waste management.
