Days after setting up a committee of secretaries to work out a plan on Ganga rejuvenation, the government on Tuesday announced a similar group of senior officers to make a plan to clean the Yamuna. The committee on Yamuna, comprising senior officers of urban and rural development ministries and Central Water Commission, will monitor implementation of the river cleaning programme in Delhi and neighbouring states.
