With a national presence that
includes 32 chapters, about 1,600 members and 8,300 students, the Confederation
of Indian Industry’s Young Indians group, popularly known as Yi, has been
slowly and steadily gaining momentum in the Tricity, taking up projects and
campaigns that not only engage the youth, but also act as their voice globally.
After ‘Show the Ink’ campaign structured to encourage voters, the latest from
Yi is their E-Waste collection centers set up in various corporate and schools
from May 15 to June 9. One can drop defunct computers to dead batteries,
useless cables to out-of-use mobiles at these spots for recycling. Plans are
also in the pipeline to kick start a ‘Horn Not Ok Please’ campaign.
