medical waste
Toxic medical waste, including mangled human limbs and foetuses, discarded in a private agricultural farm at Thumbalapati village in Coimbatore district of western Tamil Nadu, sparking off a furor among local farmers. They caught three truck drivers and informed the Komaralingam police station. The health officials who inspected the farm found used syringes, bandages, human parts and medicines lying strewn there. Cases have been registered under Sections 278 and 184 of Indian Penal Code for dumping poisonous waste and causing environmental hazard.
