Delhi: All 272 municipal wards to compete for cleanest tag

Delhi government will rank all the 272 municipal wards of the city for sanitation services available. The first of the many “cleanliness competitions” has already been launched by the urban development department, covering Anand Vihar, Mayur Vihar and Yamuna Vihar in east Delhi, Rohini I, Rohini G, and Pitampura in north and Andrews Ganj, Janakpuri and RK Puram in south Delhi. “To begin with, just nine wards are being considered for the competition,” an urban development department official said. “Over a period of time, the exercise will be expanded to cover all 272 wards in the three municipal corporations,” an official said.
