PCB serves closure notice on three firms at Edayar

Source: The Hindu, Kochi, May, 2017 :- The State Pollution Control Board (PCB) has issued closure notice to three companies in the Edayar industrial region here for operating without preliminary pollution control measures. The move came after the board carried out inspections at 11 industrial units at Eloor and Edayar on Tuesday as part of a directive issued by the Supreme Court that industries should have preliminary measures to control pollution. Officials said that the inspections would continue in the coming days. The board has informed the Kerala State Electricity Board offices at Perumbavoor, Aluva and Muppathadam that closure notices had been issued to the three companies.
