Guwahati among 10 cities in e-waste management campaign

Source: Assam Tribune, Assam, May, 2017 :- Environ, a group of environmental management for sustainable development, has started an awareness programme on environmental hazards of electronic waste under the ‘Digital India Initiative’.The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in partnership with NASSCOM Foundation, MAIT and CEAMA has embarked upon an awareness programme on environmental hazards of electronic waste under the ‘Digital India Initiative’.

The campaign is aimed at enhancing awareness amongst stakeholders involved in e-waste management in ten urban areas, thereby encouraging environmentally sound recycling through collective effort of all relevant stakeholders in the e-waste value chain. The ten cities are Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati, Imphal, Indore, Kolkata, Moradabad, Panjim, Patna, Pondicherry and Ranchi.
