 Civic bodies hunt land for solid waste plant after NGT nudge

Ghaziabad, Nov 3, 2016 : After the National Green Tribunal took a serious view of the lack of solid waste management in the city, the authorities have stepped up their efforts to acquire land for a solid waste plant at Galand in Hapur. The GDA on Wednesday held a meeting of builders of Integrated Residential Township projects and hi-tech township projects to make land available for the solid waste plant at Galand. This comes close on the heels of a meeting of all stakeholders called by district magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani on October 26 where it was discussed that the issue be resolved for once and all.
