Burning leaves outside Okhla Bird Sanctuary? Officials don't have a clue

Noida, Nov 3, 2016 : Dry leaves, which are a precious resource for making compost, are more often being burnt right outside the Okhla Bird Sanctuary (OBS). In fact, a stretch of one kilometre in the area has become a permanent leaf-burning site, despite it falling within the designated eco-sensitive zone of the sanctuary.  Leaf-burning is a punishable offence. And though smoke from such biomass burning is adding to the city's very high particulate pollution, both OBS and the Noida Authority claim to be unaware.
