 Mocking ban, industrial waste burns near Azadpur

Brazenly defying the ban on open burning, industrial waste from stainless steel units is regularly being burned on land next to the railway tracks at Wazirpur Industrial Complex, near Azadpur in north Delhi. Unbearable smoke fills the area, spreading from the industrial complex right up to residences in Shalimar Bagh. The fumes are probably toxic, says a Citizen Reporter who doesn't want his identity revealed. TOI had highlighted the problem in August, when another Citizen Reporter had flagged the issue, but no action seems to have been taken. If this how agencies fight pollution, God help Delhi.
