At the G-20 meet in Hangzhou in China, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi urged the leaders of world's top economies to not to
limit efforts to address climate change to early ratification of the Paris
Agreement but instead called on focusing on its "full
success". The Prime Minister said climate change topped the
list of global issues that may not seem economic but carry significant economic
costs. Describing climate change as a "foremost challenge", he
stressed on the need to safeguard climate justice, which requires affordable
financing and environmentally sound technology for developing countries.
